About

Portrait of Eric Moore smiling, wearing round glasses

I'm Eric, a senior product designer in South Jordan, Utah. For the last 8+ years I've designed software for the places where the stakes are high and the rules are strict: healthcare, mortgage and fintech, and the back-office tools that keep businesses running. I spent several years on enterprise teams at SimpleNexus and OPTAVIA, and since 2025 I've worked independently through my consultancy, Pip, helping healthcare startups and regional brands turn complicated operations into products people can actually use.

I design in Figma and I also ship in code. That means fewer handoffs, faster launches, and design decisions that hold up once they meet real engineering constraints.

At a glance

  • Availability: Open to 6-month contracts, and to longer with the right fit.
  • Focus: Healthtech, EHR-connected patient experiences, fintech and workflow automation.
  • Experience: 8+ years, from in-house enterprise teams to independent consulting.
  • Tools: Figma, Next.js, Tailwind v4 and Sanity CMS.
  • Worked within: Charm EHR and Boulevard system constraints.

What I bring

  • Fluency in regulated, complex domains. I've designed around legal compliance in mortgage, clinical workflows in telehealth and EHR integrations in med-spas, so I ramp up on constraints quickly instead of fighting them.
  • Design that ships. I took REBL, an async telehealth practice, from concept to a live product in four weeks, covering design, content modeling and front-end code.
  • Systems thinking. I've built and maintained design systems for 800K+ user products at OPTAVIA, and written an AI-readable one at Refill that human engineers and coding agents can both follow.
  • Alignment at scale. At OPTAVIA I shaped strategy across 9 product managers and several user types, keeping a large product coherent.

How I work

  • Validate early. I use short design sprints, like the 5-day sprints at SimpleNexus, to test the riskiest assumptions before anyone builds.
  • Write things down. Clear specs, tokens and documentation mean engineers and AI tools don't have to guess what I meant.
  • Partner with engineering. I'm comfortable in the codebase and pair closely with engineers on the details, from front-end implementation to attribution tracking.
  • Start useful on day one. As an independent consultant I come ready to contribute, with little onboarding needed.
